HOW MUCH DOES CAMP CAREFREE COST TO ATTEND?  Camp Carefree is FREE for eligible children. Thanks to our community and sponsors for making our mission possible.

WHAT AGES CAN COME TO CAMP? Campers are aged 6 (six) to 16 (sixteen) years old. More info on the Campers page.

HOW OLD MUST YOU BE TO VOLUNTEER? Our counselors must be 16 (sixteen) years old to be a CIT (counselor-in-training) and 18 (eighteen) to be a full counselor. More on our Volunteer page. Friends of any age can help in other ways!

WHAT CONDITIONS DO YOU SERVE? Our campers attend weeks designed for Cancer (active or remission;) Spina Bifida and other spinal issues; Junior Rheumatoid Arthritis (JRA;) Epilepsy and other neurological conditions; and Hemophilia and other blood disorders. We also have weeks for the siblings of our ill campers, and for kids whose parents face medical challenges.

WHERE AND WHEN CAN I GET AN APPLICATION? Applications for both Campers and Volunteers are posted as PDF files for download in February prior to the summer. You can print, fill them out and mail the pages to Camp. Applications are also (snail-) mailed in January to previous campers and counselors.

ARE YOU A NON-PROFIT? Indeed, we are a 401(c)(3) registered non-profit. We have NO full-time staff, besides a part-time groundskeeper. We are ALL volunteers!

HOW CAN I HELP? We would be most appreciative of your donation! Our biggest costs are things like electricity, building and grounds maintenance, and food for campers, staff and the llamas! We also welcome volunteer groups to help with maintenance. Please contact us!
